CP CREATIVES x JAMAICA

The CP Team made our way to Jamaica, where we were excited to continue supporting the Secrets brand with photo and video content that captured both the romance of the resort and the energy of the destination.

We landed in Montego Bay and made our way to the Secrets property, where we were greeted and welcomed by the hotel team. We familiarised ourselves with the surroundings, a beautiful property with multiple wings of hotel rooms all built around the main restaurant and entertainment area, giving the resort an almost small-town or village-like feel.

Once settled, it was time to dive into the week ahead. We started off with a full team meeting: CP crew, Odette and Tania (our MUA team for the week), hotel staff, and models. It gave everyone a chance to connect, get familiar, and understand how the week would run. These trips may only last five or six days, but because we spend so much time together, we try to create an environment where connections and hopefully even friendships can form.

Jamaica delivered a stunning sunset for our first evening shoot, where we filmed a dinner scene outdoors. We were using an anamorphic lens for this project, and the way it captured the golden light and subtle lens flares was beautiful, easily one of our favourite scenes from the whole trip.

Another highlight from this project was getting to film beyond the resort. The Secrets team organised two excursions: a bamboo rafting trip through the Jamaican rainforest and a sunset catamaran cruise. Both brought a different energy, the rafting was peaceful and immersive, with sunlight filtering through the trees as we floated along the river; the catamaran shoot was full of movement and joy, with the crew setting the tone as the sun dipped behind the horizon. These off-site scenes added variety to the final edit, showing more of Jamaica’s beauty and complementing the resort visuals with a wider sense of place.

At the resort, we also had many opportunities to capture the essence of island life through on-site scenes, like the iconic jerk cart, the variety of beach areas, and the different pools that offered something for every type of traveller. It was fun creating scenes with the models in these spaces, and Secrets Montego Bay really embraces the spirit of Jamaica in a way that feels both elevated and authentic.

To close the week, we shared a big group dinner filled with classic Jamaican dishes and plenty of laughter as we reflected on everything we’d experienced in such a short time.

Afterwards, we went to film and watch the hotel’s evening entertainment, which was an original Jamaican-themed musical. It was such a special way to end the trip, being immersed in Jamaican culture through music and dance.

Reflecting on the week, our biggest takeaway came back to the people we worked with, the hotel team, talent, and crew. There was a shared sense of openness, creativity, and commitment throughout the week, to create something that reflects the experience of Secrets Montego Bay.

Looking forward to heading back to Jamaica in the future.
